Using this technology, we can produce any kind of tooth restoration. In about one hour, chipped and discolored teeth can be repaired using porcelain crowns and veneers without the need for impressions. Broken down molars can be restored using inlays and onlays, meaning unsightly silver fillings are a thing of the past.



How does this CEREC technology work?

CEREC is a revolutionary system that enables your dentist to design, fabricate and fit a new crown, veneer, onlay or inlay in a single visit, a procedure that would normally take at least two weeks, if not more!
Your tooth is first prepared in the normal way done before fitting a crown or a veneer. At this point, instead of using "dental putty" to take an impression of your tooth, a digital image is taken using a special camera. This image is then converted into a 3D computerized model of your tooth, which is used as a guide to design your new restoration. Once we are happy with the newly designed tooth, this data is sent to an onsite milling machine, which fabricates your new tooth from a high-quality ceramic block. The ceramic blocks come in a wide variety of shades and colors, and your tooth will be selected to match your surrounding teeth. Once the crown or veneer has been milled, we can also characterize it and stain it to match your surrounding teeth, before either polishing it or glazing it in a furnace. Your new restoration will then be cemented into place.

What is the difference between conventional veneers and Cerec veneers?
Usually, porcelain veneers are placed over a minimum of two visits. Each one requiring injections, an impression is taken and sent to the laboratory and temporary crowns are placed between sessions.

They consist of custom- made ultra-thin shells that can be placed directly over existing teeth without removing any tooth enamel. Placing a traditional dental veneer often requires the removal of healthy enamel in order to create space for the veneer.

How does it work?
CEREC 3D uses CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) technology, incorporating a 3D camera or 3D optical scanner, computer and milling machine in one instrument.

The BLUE CAM camera integrated in our dental clinic is used to take an accurate picture of the prepared tooth. This optical impression is transferred and displayed on a color computer screen, where the dentist uses CAD technology to design the restoration. Then CAM takes over and automatically creates the restoration while the patient waits. Cerec 3D computer software then is used to design the Ceramic prosthesis and the connected Milling Machine fabricates the work in minutes.

Zirconia Prosthetic Bridge frameworks are then sintered for supreme strength and then layered with Ceramic over several hours for delivering superlative dental Ceramics.

The final scheduled procedure involves bonding of the Dental Crown / Bridge.
